I will soon be purchasing a new 2004 F150 Super Crew Lariat. My first choice exterior color is black. I'll get the leather captains chairs since they come with the flow through console and the floor shifter. I'm having trouble deciding upon the interior color. I like both the tan and the black leather. I am presently leaning toward the black. The tan seems a little too light. More of a cream or beige. It’s hard to find the black since most Lariats are made with the tan. I’m also worried about black on black being a little too hot in the Texas summers.
I would like the opinion of all you present 2004 F150 owners. What is your favorite interior color? Are you happy with your choice?
As light as the beige is, it don't get any darker than BLACK. I've got it in my car now, and I'm constantly dusting it, not to mention the carpets. If you take care of your vehicles, then the beige should be no big deal. And if you don't take care of them, and you're buying a Lariat, then I gotta believe you can afford to have it detailed at least once a year. If it's not a work truck, I'd go with the beige.
I selected tan and I just love it. The exterior of my truck is white.
I live in Phoenix, Arizona where we have hot summers and these colors should help keep the temperature down. They are also easy to keep clean, and they look great together.
I would get the black, as you have already stated the tan is really light. Too light IMO, that is why i choose black myself. Its gonna need a lot of ducting but since you are already getting the black exterior i assume you will already be cleaning your car alot.
I went for the tan in my 2004 Supercrew. it's really more like cream. Looks like it will be hard to keep clean, I'm already lloking for seat covers for when i take it hunting. Kinda wish I had gone with grey. The truck is AZ beige.
I debated between going to black but found the charcoal gray color to be more appealing. It has the gray/blk interior captain chairs; everything looks like carbon fiber in my FX4. I was concerned about trying to keep black exterior lookin ggood with the typical swirl problem that goes with black paint. Dark gray is easier to keep clean up here in the north anyway. Glad I made the choice.
I think lariats only come in the tan leather. so if you want a lariet, your options are limited. the fx4 comes in black or medium flint (gray) leather. i went with the flint leather. not too dark and still hides the dirt pretty well
I have a Lariat super cab with black exterior w/beige 2 tone with the "cream" color interior(not tan!).very light color to keep clean in addition to the light color carpeting.wish I saw the black leather first
I put a set of Catch-All Premium floor mats by Nifty Products in my 2004 F-50 Lariat SuperCrew. When I saw how light the carpet color was, I knew a good set of floor mats was needed. The factory rear mats don't cover very well.
The Catch-All mats fit perfectly and have anchors that you can use to hond them snugly in place. I haven't put the anchors in yet, but plan on doing so. I really like the tan leather over the black leather. Just my preference....
I ordered the Catch-All mats online. They cost $155.00 (included FedEx shipping). I've enclosed a couple of pictures below for those that would want to see them. They are a little darker than the factory tan even though Nifty advertises that they match factory OEM carpet color. I would highly recomment these mats.
I ordered my Lariat Supercab in Black And 2 tone Arizona Beige
with a black leather interior. I own a machine shop, and I know
that the tan would get very dirty. It was an easy choice for me.
Plus I really like the looks of the black interior
