How much to use in a large capacity cooling system, 90 F250/HD/Diesel 4X4?
Starngest thing in the world, losing coolant but to where I don't know. Pressure test had excellent results and compression is good on all 8 with no signs of luid leaking anywhere. Kinda like that sock I lost in the laundry way back when...
most likely a leaky head gasket that won't show up under compression test.I would take it to a shop and have them test it for hydro carbions it's a easy test with an exhoust sniffer in the rad.
The Bar's Leak is mostly organic stuff, like Ginger Root, crushed Almond shells, etc. , and stays in suspension in your cooling system until it is forced into a leak path. Use what they recommend. The compression ratio in your diesel is potentially causing blow-by in your head gaskets. It's worth a try to see if the Bar's Leak seals off some, or all, of the leak paths. Another potential leak path is your hose joints. You may need to check/tighten/reposition your hose clamps. These leaks are more like "weepers", and may not show up with pressure tests.
Good luck.
Thanx alot gent, I put it in the radiator today and will tighten up and adjust all lines, I did just have the engine out for a valve job and piston fix. Maybe I screwed up lining one of the hoses.
