Sounds like you have the transmission sender nailed. You should compare the lenth of the sender with the length of the plug you remove. There were some problems reported with the sender bottoming out. That may have been on the earlier transmissions though.
On my '04 there was no rubber line to install the boost "T" into. I ended up drilling and tapping the aluminum elbow in the intercooler line that sits just behind the radiator and is held in place with 4 bolts, 3 short and 1 longer. The elbow uses an "O" ring seal between it and the block so no worries about gaskets and replacements. My sender was 1/4" NPT and required an 11/32" drill for the tap.
I have a post on fordtrucks.com that will save you some time on the A pillar install. At least it will keep you from making the same mistakes I did.
So you removed the aluminum elbow just in front of the oil filter and behind the radiator on the top of the engine, drilled and tapped, using a 1/4" brass nipple, then replaced the elbow back ontop the engine? They supplied clear tygon type tubing, did you use it or another type?
