I would love to be able to do that. Unfortunatly during the contruction season I'm to tired after a 15 hour shift & just want to spend the time left over with my kids & then during the winter months I spend all my time with my kids to make up for the other.
Maybe I'll set-up a home gym this year & can do both. I can see my 5 year old boy spotting me & my 6 year old girl coaching me.
Barry thanks for the input. as ive mentioned above im afraid to do squats or similar excercizes because of my knees ( they lock up sometimes ) but i do Calf Extensions with a machine that puts 290 pounds on my shoulders and then i just extend my calves for 4-6 sets of 8-10.
maybe ill start doing leg curls though.
im not big on cardio cause im trying to bulk up. like ive said im 6'1" 185 pounds or so... and i dont know if its just my personal opinion, but i think im too skinny. i use to be @ 200 but not as muscular. so i need to gain another 15 pounds before im happy again.
how strongly do you believe that a person should take a week off of lifting here and there? i took 4-5 days off a couple weeks ago, and im afraid to take a full week off. im afraid ill lose so much ive worked so hard for.
Parks911 i hear ya man. after 10-12 hours or so of tree removal i have a hard time hitting the gym after wards, but yet i do anyways. i dont have a family like you do, so i couldnt even imagine how tough it would be
Not too sure about taking time off... I never saw a difference in my workouts, I would just stretch a little more and ease my way into them instead of picking up where I left off. Best to judge yourself, you know your body best and a pulled muscle or other injury will leave you out of the gym longer than a week. If you are taking protein or other supplement and not working out, that will actually work against you.
I think my best bench was 150lbs. LOL Actually, I just started to bench. My first time was only a couple weeks ago. I hope to get up to 350#-400# by the time im in my late 20's
The lat pull downs should go with the chest workout, or at least thats what i do. And also a tip: before you do your benching warm up your upper body with curls, upright rows, tricep extentions etc. and you will be able to put up quite a bit more weight.
F250- If you really need a workout-I have several tons of snow and a small shovel that would really give you a challenge. Plus it would get rid of this ---- snow! It's a "win-win" situation. You get stronger; I get rid of the snow. What do you say?
hey i got that same deal for you, just think of all the reps you can do by shoveling my driveway and sidewalks. if you need even more my mom needs hers done everytime it snows too, she has a snowblower but you wont need that....lol
