I have a 04 F-350 SD, 6.0 PSD with the "Tow/Haul" option on the transmission. I'm Trying to find out which is better for the transmission when plowing; using the Tow/haul option or not. I've called five different Ford dealers and spoke to their service managers and no one has been able to tell me anything about it. I took it one step further and called Ford Motor Company directly and they told me that my local dealer should be able answer my question......... Anyone have any information on this?
I have not read any info on it but I would think it would be your preference. Tow/Haul should give you engine braking which might be useful in slippery conditions. I used it in the ice here yesterday and it seemed to help keep me from using the brakes. If I hear any official info I will let you know.
NO! You don't need it. I plow with a 9' foot fisher on my 04 F-350 SD with a 6.0 diesel. You gas milage will worsen and you all ready have enough power. Your not towing or hauling.
No... you're pushing. I've always found it better to plow with the tow haul on. When going between driveways you can shut it off for better fuel economy. But I must say... the best thing to happen to 6.0 plowing is the Edge Juice chip with Attitude Monitor.
