'68 ignition switch wiring

hi

someone stole my truck a while back and ripped all the wires out of the back of the ignition switch to hotwire it. i got the truck back, but have no clue as to which wires attach to which posts. any help in wire placement would be appreciated.

thanks very much

Was the plug also wrecked?

Here is an old thread.
In it contains a link to a special site.

no, the plug is fine. he just pulled all the wires out of the plug. one of the retainer clips on the side of the switch was broken off, but other than that it seems okay.

i checked that thread, but didn't see the link to the site you mentioned. i might be able to use the pin/wire color description listed by rrawlins. i'm guessing when he says 12:00 o'clock, that's when the ignition is off and the key plug release hole is on the top.

First, welcome!

I have had to replace the entire pigtail. If you go to www.pico.com you can get the phone # of the local US distributor, (Pico is in Canada). I ordered one in Phoenix. I do have wiring diagrams for the '68. Click on the profile link and then send me an email through there. No email addresses are allowed in threads. FYI. Anyway, I'll send you a good picture of the ignition wiring after I have you email.

Bryan
