Brake conversion delema

I have a '79 F-150 Supercab 4X4 that I am in the process of rebuilding / upgrading. I am working on the drivetrain at this time, however my brakes have started to leak somewhere ( I belive at the master cylinder but I have found no trace - rear reservoir is very low on fluid and the brakes work but the pedal is at the floor to engage them). I intended to upgrade the whole braking system in accordance with the 2001 Tech Article for Bronco brake upgrades however right now I wanted my money and time to be going to other areas. Do I replace the master cylinder now with a new one - only to replace it again in a few months with the F-350 unit? Or do I replace the master cylinder and booster with the F-350 units now. Will this work with my old single piston front calipers? Do I need to change the whole braking system at once to be safe? Just trying to find the best way - thanks for pondering my quandry.

I would look at the hoses more careful, especially the one going to the axle where it splits left/right. Reason being it is the most likely one to wear out and if you have a leak, it is possible for it to spray on the ground without wetting anything on the truck.
