Hi I need some help with the front axle in my truck
its an 86 F-250 I am changing the wheel bearings and
ball joints but im not sure what it has for a front axle
I puled the tag off and i hope some one could help me out
3.54 E6TA JA and i think the botom set of numbers are
010253-2 and the axle nut tool i had for my F-150 will not
work what one do you need?
Check that bottom set of numbers again, is it possible that it's 610243(D44HD), or 610254(D50)?
I think that since the F150 spindle nut socket won't work, it's a Dana 50 that you have.
You will need the bigger version of the same socket.
Quick way to tell, if the axle u-joint has an internal snap ring like a driveshaft, it's a D50, if it's internal like an F150 axle joint, it's a D44HD.
Good luck
Evan
