I just got a fabtech 5.5 in lift on my 2002 f350. Is it common for the springs to kind of make a clunking noise? I notice when I go over speedbumps or I turn real sharp over bumps like up into a driveway it makes this noise? I can almost kind of feel it by my left foot. Is it the springs or is it the sway bar or something binding in the suspension. Or maybe this is somrthing common with larger springs? I don't know I've never lifted anything so this is all new to me. Thanks to anyone who could help.
Hello and welcome to FTE. I had the same sound under my truck. I had my sister turn the stearing wheel back and forth and it turned out that when I put the track bar on the top bolt wasn't tight enough. It would move back and forth in the bracket. It would make the same sounds going over bumps as you discribed. You might try impacting it on with an air gun. I hope this helps.
I' don't think thats normal and it doesn't happen on mine. You may want to have someone walk beside your truck and see if they can tell where the noise is coming from or have them look when you go over a speed bump and see if they can see some pieces of the lift hitting each other.

The only spring noise that I hear, here in Florida, is Bull Gators looking for a girl friend.
okay I had someone drive it back and fourth over a curb today and I listened to see where it is coming from. It turns out not to be a "clunking" noise but a "squeaking" noise that is coming from one of the springs? It sounds like it is coming from the right side of the truck. Do any of your trucks springs make any kind of noise? anyone with Fabtech springs hear this? If you want to check just let it roll down a slope like a driveway a little bit in neutral with the engine turned off and hit the brakes real hard to make it bounce back and fourth and see if you hear anything? I need some help to see if I should go back to the 4 wheel place that put it on to have them fix it or replace the springs if they are defective. I don't want them to tell me that it is normal if really it is not. Thanks for any help
Like I said in my above post, I have the Fabtech lift and I think some spring noise is normal, especially with these big trucks. I have a little squeek here and there due to the weight of the SD flexing the lift parts. What I was told to do after my lift was installed was:
1) After 500 miles, I was to take it back to the shop who installed and have them retorque all the lift bolts and regrease/lube all the areas that needed to be.
2) After 5000 miles, do #1 again.
3) Take it back to the shop once a year thereafter and have them do the above service.
Of course, the shop that did my lift does all of these services for free. What you might want to do is take it back to them and see what they think of the lift noise. If they are a reputable shop, they should do what is necessary to fix it if there is something wrong. They may just have to tighten and lube some pieces like they did on mine. There's nothing wrong with being concerned about things that you are uncertain about with your lift. The shop should know this and should be there to help fix or explain what going on. Good luck.
