I'm about to install Pertronix ignition, and I read in a recent thread about an inline resistor existing from the ignition wire on the referenced truck.
I have a '69 F250, with a 390 in it. Am I going to have such a resistor, also? Where will I find it?
Any insight would be appreciated. The pertronix instructions say zilch about how to confirm you have such a resistor, or where it is.
All point type OE trucks have a resistor wire in the harness. The Pertronix uses so little current that it apparently is not affected by the resistor wire. I hooked mine up to the stock wire and have had no problems in 15 years or so.
