new guy building a 429

Hey new guy here. First I would like to say nice site here and thanks in advance.

I am building a 429 and I see a lot of stroken going on here. Is this the way to go? I am looking to get about 550-600 hp. Is this easy?? It is a 69 429 thunderjet engine. who makes a good stroker kit?

Coast high performance makes a good stroker kit from what I hear. You might want to check out Flatlander racing as well. You can always do it yourself. Just buy the crank and rods and then ask a piston manufacturer for what you will need for your setup. They will be able to tell you. Stroking, IMO, is the way to go for a street engine. You could probably get the 429 to make as much hp as a stroker, but the torque would be less and the RPM range for the 429 would be much higher. For 99% of people using them for daily drivers, the stroker is a lot more fun.
