Sittin here with not much to do since all classes were cancelled due to the storm and wondered, What you guys think is better Case IH or them expensive green things (JD). Im a Red man myself. Hard to beat their bang for the buck. Favorite was the 5488s all the power really needed for the grain cart.
If your in the dark scroll down a little further since I explain more.

I figured I should have explaind further. What brand of tractors do you prefer red (Case IH) or green (killin me to say the right way but I don't wanna test the moderator's patience so I'll call it a John Deere).
I ran both years ago.I found I like the John Deere easier to operate as far as controls go.After operating both all day at different times,I found the John Deere was a lot more comfortable to operate for any length of time.
Actually, Blue. We run Ford/New Holland equipment. Much more comfortable than and JD, the Case/IH tractors are nice, but we don't run anything too big, so the NH's do just fine.
I guess if you wanna get technical red is blue. New Holland now owns Case. Talking to the reps they say that as of now they plan to keep Case a seperate line.
i like Fords and JDs. although i will admit i haven't spent all that much time on case equipment. im comfortable on the newhollands and i like the controls.
EDIT: i didnt realize NH bought case ... i wonder if they will keep case the way it is now for the people loyal to them or if they will slowly incorporate the ford/NH into case and make them all the same.

I remember those early Fords.I didn't get to operate them very much though. They had a lot of transmission problems back in the 70's.I don't know about any of the newer stuff.I haven't been farming for years.Things have changed quite a bit.
John Deere for me. Granddaddy has always had John Deeres, but he still has a Farmall 140. Thing here is that all of the Case/IH/NH dealers went out of business 15 years ago. So dealer service and dealer network is great here when we need them (not very often), and that's why we're green. John Deere has been great machinery to us and that's why we'll continue to buy green. Last Case/IH my Granddaddy had was a 464 and the transmission went in it, and the dealer he bought it from 20 years earlier was defunct, so he didn't bother to get it fixed and bought a new JD 5205 Sync-Reverse. The dealer allowed him about $4000 on the IH because the engine was still good.
Personally, I have a 1999 JD GT-235 Garden Tractor with a 54" mower deck which has given me no trouble. I also just bought a 1969 John Deere 140 Garden Tractor with hydraulic lift and no deck (but I'm looking) that had sat for 5 years, I rebuilt the carb and she fired right up.
My neighbor has Case and NH. I use his tractors to plow out the drive way in the winter and sometimes to move dirt in the summer. My neighbor is awesome. You ever want to hear a really funny story ask me about how I met him. As for me...I'm a "city" boy living in the country and that's most of the experience I've got...although my dad did have a little Ford 9N. But I only drove it once or twice when I visited them down south.
