I choose orange, we have an early 80's kubota 7200 4 wheel drive with front loader and backhoe(yes I know its tiny so what) I've worked it pretty hard before and we cant kill it. The other machine I've spent some time on was a early 90's Cat 416 and it was a nice machine. It felt alot bigger then what it is but that could be cause I'm use to orange! What do you guys think of blue(dynahoe) I have a feeling that I'm getting one along with an old D5 with a bucket as inheritance some day.
I have to agree that kubotas parts service sucks, well atleast our dealership, we thought we needed a voltage regulator and they told us it was going to take like 2 weeks or so to get the part in, unreal. We found the real problem after closer investigation but its a good thing we were at home and not someone with their own business.

I'll have to go with green, since that is mostly what we own. My favorite tractor is a John Deere 4430. I like Deere and Oliver, we own both. Although I think the Case IH Axial Flow combines, seeding equipment and tillage equipment are hard to beat. I also like the Case IH 4wd tractors. I think New Holland equipment is ok, never been around much of it. Not really a big fan of AGCO, at least since the Deutz thing. I think the Masseys are ok, no dealers in our area anymore, the reason we no longer run Massey combines. I'll stick with Deere.
Gotta have respect for those Agco partsmen, though, having to know the parts books for half a dozen lines of equipment. Being a 'green' partsman is a little easier With the shrinking amount of competing dealers their Parts Country system helps fill in the gaps for those running other colors. There's an excellent resource available at 'jdparts.com' for ordering and checking availability on stuff at your nearest dealer. Anyone can sign up and what I like about it is the parts spec search that will find any type of bolt, nut, shim, bearing etc in the system. This is pretty handy for even us truckers and hotrodders. Far as I know, no one else has this kind of resource.
The Husqvarna dealer offered to trade me a new Husqvarna 28hp, 72" Zero turn mower (value: $16,000) for my truck. Said they needed a good service truck. I told him it wasn't for sale. I will always use John Deere machinery because its always what we've had. They are easier to take care of than any other brand out there, except for the ones with the Kawasaki engines on them.
"Of course that's why JD has Parts Country and CounterParts programs, for people with other brand equipment who don't have a local dealer. John Deere can get parts for your IH, Case, Kubota, NH and any other brand out there."
That must be a dealer function - local JD dealer has never een heard of such a thing. Its easier to get IH parts at NAPA.
About the only things left from the original IH company are the Axial Flow combines, 496 disk (or a version of), and the DT466 engine (?). Read "A Corporate Agony, The International Harvester Story and you'll see how quick a company can be driven into the ground with bad management and poor labor relations.

The local one here does. Go to www.partscountry.com , and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's a nationwide program, your dealer must not have signed on to it.
