Question keyless entry?

Hey all. Just traded my '93 F-150 for a '99 and I'm lovin it. I do have a question however. How do you know if the truck came with keyless entry originally? I didn't get a remote from the dealer, but that doesn't mean much seeings how the spare key they gave me only works half the time. (Theft deterant keys) Thanks for any input in advance.

Take it to your dealer or you might even get you insurance company to tell you but they can run the VIN and tell you what the truck was equiped with. There are also sites on the internet but they will charge you.

A couple things,

Does your truck have the Keypad entry under the door handle? If it does, chances are that your truck has remote entry too.

You could also try the proceedure for programming remotes:
Put the key in the ignition and turn it from off to run 8 times in 10 seconds. The door locks will cycle.
If it does this, just look for a couple of fobs on e-bay!

Good luck,

Tim

Good luck! If it does respond to the programming sequence, just make sure you look for key fobs for a 99.

Have a good one!
