Head gaskets

I would like to know the history of the Ford head gasket problems with the 5.4 L engine. If there has been a fix, what year was it adopted? Are the ‘99s and 2000s free of it?

The problem surfaced in the '99 model year and supposedly continuted through '00, '01 and possibly even into '02, although with much lower occurrences.

Try some searches in this forum, the engine forum, etc. and you'll find a plethora of info on this topic.
