Is there anyone out there with the deminsions for a box to put behind the seat of a 93 F-150 regular cab pickup, where I don't have to scrub my knees in the dash when I drive??
holla!!
What size speaker and how many of them. It depends on what the specific speaker calls for. I'm building a box for 2 10's right now... pm me the info if you want, I can see if I can get any dimensions together. I would check www.crutchfield.com and look up Q-logic boxes, as they make a single sub box specifically for trucks, in both 10" and 12" size.
I put the Optimus truck speaker boxes from Radio Shack behind the rear seat on the Crew Cab and there is still plenty of leg room left. The boxes each hold one 8" woofer and one tweeter and are ported. I also have enough room in between them to put a 20" tool box. The speakers sound good too. I dont know how much they are now, as I bought these about 5 years ago, but they were about 120 dollars for the boxes complete with speakers and connector jacks. They can be run off a high-power deck or with a small amp. I know a pair of 8's doesn't sound like much but for a pickup cab, they are plenty.
I have two of the old style mtx 10" subwoofers and so far no box. I was hoping I could get some #'s to build a box myself so I can ride comfortably.
Holla!!
i have the dimensions. they were for 2 infinity reference 10's and they fit in a regular cab f-150 and i had plenty of leg room. the only thing major i did was to lift my seat up a little bit. but that was only to fit my amps, cd changer, and cap under there. it is slanted in shape - 40" wide x 8-3/16" bottom depth x 5-1/8" top depth x 15-1/8" height. it will give you about 1.3 cubic foot total. hope this helps.

How do you lift the seat up maybe that's all I may have to do. Every box I've ever put behind my seat made me put my knees in the dash. But I never thought of lifting the seat.
holla
to lift my seat up, i just unbolted it and placed 1x1 square steel tube beneath it. check mtx's website for the specs on the subs. i would also download a program i have called winISD. it is a speaker modeling program that also has a box design program in it.
