My wife bought me a set of Bushnell binoculars that have a digital camera in them. She bought them on QVC for a Christmas present. Well, I got them and thought they were pretty nice .. 10x power and able to hold a large number of photos.
Well, I put them together, put the battery in and turned it on and it seemed to be working fine. After two minutes of non use, they automatically turn off, which they appeared to do. Next day I was going to take a picture to see what the quality was. Turned camera on and ..nothing. Dead batteries. So, I figured it was a poor set of batteries and put a new set in. Next day..same thing..dead batteries.
The instructions came with a little booklet saying for repairs, etc, send $10 along with the camera/binocs to Bushnell. I figgered to heck with that! I hadn't even taken a picture with them yet! So, I emailed Bushnell and told them of my problem and all the particulars. I complained about having to send the money for a camera I hadn't even used and they emailed me back telling me to send the camera in and they would evaluate it.
Well, they got it, tested it and confirmed that it eats batteries alright and that they would replace it. A couple days later I got an email from them saying they couldn't replace that model..they were all out. So, they decided to send me a set of the newest model...one to be released to the public this spring.
My old model was pretty plain and retailed on QVC for around $70 plus shipping. The newer set has a pop up LCD screen, a spot for an SD card, plus it has it's own photo storage capability plus more features and is to retail at around $260.
I got them the other day AND MAN!...what a nice set!! I still haven't taken a picture yet. But I just know this set will work.
The moral of this story is that the squeaky wheel DOES get the grease. I was pretty impressed. Anyone else have such good luck when complaining to a manufacturer?
Its good to be reading a GOOD story about a product and their service department. I have a set of 6-24 Bushnell Bino's and Leupold 24x and 36x rifle scopes, and I have nothing but good things to say about the way they stand behind their products . Congrats,
Good to see they fixed you up! I have dealt with enough horrible service centers to be impressed with how Bushnell made things right.
The worst one I have dealt with was Sony, first with the new PS2 (which had to be sent back 3 times, they finally replaced it with an older, reconditioned one...NOT what I paid for...grr) and now with the laptop, don't think I ever want another Sony product.
Believe it or not, before HP moved their service call center to India or wherever, they were very helpful and patient and got my PC straightened out for free. They stayed on the phone with me for 2 hours until it was right.

The HP tech support used to be here in my home town. One reason HP, like everyone else, is moving their call centers to India, etc, is because of the calls you received help on. It doesn't really matter if you are helped or not.. they contract out a specific call time allowed for each agent helping you. The people here like to actually help people and did an excellent job. But doing an excellent job and meeting "required call times" are two different things. Good luck on future calls ... especially trying to understand what they are saying.
I had to fight American Home Furnishings over a ripped sofa that they delivered to me. I fought for over a month and never even had a manager call me back until I threatened to back my truck up to their front doors in their main showroom and dump about $3000 worth of furniture on their sidewalk in front of God and everybody and then sue them. Miraculously, the next day their top manager called me and I got a new living room set.
