Ok I have zero experience in this area. Looking for a digital camera for my 18 year old step daughter's birthday. Price range $100-120 MAX,cheaper would be ok if it serves the purpose. Only qualifications it needs is that pictures need to be easily downloaded onto a computer and have decent quality. Easy user interface is what I'm looking for.
what i really like about these cameras is they use 2 AA batteries, not a special battery pack like some of the others do.
a pair of lithium ion AA batteries last 4-5 months. and with a 2 gig SD card, you can take and store 1165 pictures on the card.
transferring pictures to a computer is as easy as plugging the supplied cord into the camera and the other side into a usb port ont he computer, then transfer the pics to the computer.
I'm on my 3rd canon Elph (this time the 170IS) camera, easy point and shoot takes a fair picture and fits in the pocket. Get them at wally world and purchase the 2 year warranty and if something happens they replace the purchase price no questions asked.
I carry 2 batteries so never worried about it, pics look good to me. Did you have the low end Elph, my 170IS is way better than the previous 2. I don't photo for a living so the quality of the pics seems ok to me. I also leave the image size on the highest setting, I think that makes a difference.
i used to carry 2 battery packs too. but i never got more than 15-20 pics before hte battery was dead. with the lithium ion AA batteries in the fujifilm digital, i can take 200+ pics before the batteries start to get low.
