Hello everyone, I have a 2001 Mazda B4000 Dual Sport, and I keep having trouble with one of my fuses. In the Fuse/Relay Location #2 which requires a 10 amp fuse keeps blowing, it controls (Daytime running lights, Back-up lamps, Transmission, Passenger Air Bag Deactivation Switch, Blower Motor Realy). I can't figure out why it keeps blowing, I have to replace the fuse about every 2-4 days. Does anybody know anything about this problem?????????? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not exactly. You could try taking the tail lights out to check the grounds, plus the head lights etc.
By chance does the airbag warning light in the instrument cluster flash? Just thinking out loud here.
It has to be a fault in one of those systems. Something is going to ground or internally faulted. See if you can isolate one system at a time. For example, disconnect the back up lamps for a few days and see if the fuse blows. Then try the blower motor, etc. If you have some time, try checking the systems for a ground with a voltmeter and ohmmeter. It will be easier if you have a wiring diagram.
If it goes to a blower motor relay, then the relay coil may be partially shorted and may not blow the fuse right away, because it is eating away at the fuse day by day until it gets britle and pops.
