Angry I need more power !

OK

whats the simplest bolt-on I can use to increase my horsepower? I was going on a nice long drive and was really stomping on the pedal inorder to keep her at 70. I've seen the 58MM throttle body mentioned before on the site. can anyone provide me with some info on it.
Also headers were mentioned and a single Cat exhaust.. which is in the works for the spring. and dualling out the exhaust..
I'm getting annoyed of not really being able to pass someone that easily. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I would first make sure it's running properly as is. I don't have to romp on the accelerator to maintain 70. I can do 75 pretty easily, and my BII is all stock.

First off-Do a total tune upthen check for codes.
Are you talking about power or torque. You can feel torque and you can't really feel power.
If it is torque I would go with gears. When I put 4.10 gears in, I noticed a better pick up and go on acceleration. The larger throttle body will give you slightly better throttle response. I noticed better pick up and go in the higher RPM range( about 3,000-3,500 RPM)
Go 4.0 engine swap.

My 88 was able to hum along nicely I had no problems reaching and cruising at 75 also... this little one... well she just lags acceleration. I feel she needs a swift kick in the butt to get her moving sometimes.. Now the throttle body from an 87 is what should be installed or would a different aftermarket one be better, if so what brand would be best ??

more power

I agree with the others, do a COMPLETE tune up,
I just put in a new air filter system kinda like a K&N but a little cheaper. was supposed to get an extra 10 to 20 ponies out of her, (I'm not sure about that,)
But I can feel an increase in power, and improved throttle response. Now I can get rid of the old filter box .

Check out my pics of it in my gallery.( fresh ponies)

well she was recently fully tuned , plugs.rotor,wires.
distributor cap, fresh oil, K&N flter in the stock airbox. Timing was brought to 12 degrees. Coolant system was flushed. Valve gasket covers replaced. new alternator and fuel filter.
Even with all thats been done she's still lacking somewhat in the power department. I like the airfilter box you have there dlink. Hows the learane between the alternator and the filter body .. looked tight from the angle of the photos.
Wolpax.. the 4:10 gears ae efinately in the works but thats a warmer weather job...brrrrr.

Alt/belt clearance

yea it is kinda of a tight fit but it works. There's about
5/8 of an inch before it would hit the alt/belt.

thanks

By any chance, do you have larger tires on your truck? If you go larger tires without any gear change you will lack power to turn the extra meats.

I bought the little beastie with toyo's in the front and BF's in the rear.. a fact I find extremely annoying.... but they're all 285's . I like how the toyos look on it though. I used to run BF's on old 93 nissan. the 96 runs Pirelli Scorpions.. 31 x 10.5 stock.
