can anyone tell me where to buy some high performance ford 390 engine parts and what are some good mods to add fast power and so i can stick about 200 horse shot of NOS on it what pistons and everything would i need for all that?
well you will get more help once this reaches the FE forumn but in the meantime ill give you a few ways, a crane 801 cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold, edelbrock heads, atleast a 750 cfm 4 barrell carb, adjustable rockers and a better heavy set of springs to withstand the crane 801 cam, a good electronic ignition, you can also find a 428 crank or go with the SCAT 4.125 crank, a good set of ceramic coated headers, im not sure on what piston to use, this is only the beginning and theres lots of other combos you can do also, you will get more help from the guru guys over at the FE forumns that have done this before. goodluck
I like the 801 cam recommendation for nitrous. It has a nice wide lobe center angle so there is less overlap. if you have a lot of overlap with that big of a shot of nitrous then you can be shooting nitrous into the intake valve and it will exit throught the exhaust before it closes all the way. 200HP is a pretty big shot. You will need some custom forged pistons for that to be safe. The TRW L2291 pistons are very stong but I don't know if I would trust them under a 200HP shot.
