Fuel injection ills.........2
Ignition fires and advances fine.
Leakdown test (after only 30 minutes runtime since
overhaul) shows 15-25%.......good
With the fuel rail/injectors removed from intake and
placed upside down while cranking, ALL injectors
fire simultaneously and equally. Good fuel pressure
PROBLEM: After cranking/starting engine, it begins
to miss badly after 1-2 seconds of running. I suspect fuel injection control because it smooths out when carb-cleaner is shot into throttle valve.
What would cause fuel injectors to cut out after the
starting circuit cuts off? The banks of injectors fire at opposite times, correct? They don't fire all at the
same time as I understand.... It seems as though
the passenger side is affected much more (by removing spark plug leads)
Stumped!
Any ideas?? JeffT
Did the EEC-IV test (KeyOnEngineOff only). My voltmeter
read a steady 12volts across the correct pins whether the ignition was on or off-- no codes AT ALL. No "check engine" light on dash either.
Would you guys suspect the ECA "brain" is blown?
Cheers (!) JeffT
