question about turn downs.

my truck was rear ended and the bumper was ripped almost completely off and pipes were bent. one even collapsed in so i doubt hardly anything is flowing out of that pipe. more info in general forums if you want it, anyway back to the question. is turndowns much louder than having it piped straight out the back with tips? im thinking of having turndowns put on instead. and where is the best place for the turn downs? right after the muffler or piped back a little then turned down?

if it was me i wouldnt even worry about the turndowns i would just leave the muffler open ended but if you want turn downs i would run them right off the muffler
