I'm needing to replace the injection pump on my 94 7.3 IDI Turbo. The Stanadyne numbers are "DB2-5069" (Turbo and Automatic) which is correct for my truck. My local parts dealer as well as several online sources list pumps as only "DB2" without the sub model identifier.
Can I use a general "DB2" pump not knowing the sub-model or does it matter?
I don't think there's any such thing as a plain "DB2" injection pump. The numbers that follow provide data that relates to things like what the fuel delivery is set at.
The following website gives a good desription of applications and number.
What went wrong with your pump?
