Difference between 95 and 96 exhaust?

It is possible that with MAF and OBD-II, that a smog pump was not necessary to meed standards. GM was able to omit the smog pump even in California on some engines, some model years. The '94 GM V-6 did not have one, the '94 5.0 Ford does. Both were certified as light-duty (under 8500 GVW) and sold new in California.
