X/SD wheels
I've been thinking about changing the wheels on my SD to the kind that come on the Xcursions. (Cross dressing? NOT!)
My question is... Can a guy take the painted part of the wheels off like you would an emblem and is it chrome underneath or would it be rough aluminum...

What in the world are you talking about!? The Excursions use the same wheels as the Super Dutys. Since they are virtually the same vehicle...

My SD came with wheels that has 8 round holes about an inch or so in diameter on them. The X came with with oblong or "slot" type holes in it and I think there are only about 5-6. They also appear to have the edges of these "oblong" holes have paint on them. The vent holes on my wheels have no paint.
Sorry I didnt explain that further the first time. I drove out to my Ford dealer and saw that some of the SD's have the X style and some have the O style.

Slammer, The oblong holed wheels I beleave are for the Lareit trucks and X's. The round holed ones like yours are the XLT edition ones.

Slammer, Ebay has a ton of factory wheels on there, usually you can pick them up cheap.

I ordered my Excursion as a XLT Premium package because it think it has a cleaner look than the Limited Exc. That is just my personal preference. One of the things I like is that it has the round holes in the wheels instead of the oblong shape of the limited Exc and the Lariet trucks.
Also I wanted the grey leather which I was told not available on Limited Exc

Plead me temporary insanity.... I'm have gotten into my evidence locker by mistake... SO... I say no to the "oblongs" and think I'll go with a Weld or maybe an American Alloy.....
