Quality Dipstick
If so, then you would may be the first. Ever.Does it not tell you the proper level?
I cannot imagine anyone making an aftermarket dipstick specifically for the V10.

:-staun I'm not gonna touch that one
.I'm real tempted though.Munkey does raise a good point. The dipstick does pick up oil off of the tube and this makes reading it a bit funky, especially with fresh oil.
The main reason I asked this question is because if a person (me) isn't careful when removing it,it will flop about and sling a bit of oil.You also have to use both hands when reinstalling it or you'll spend a month of Sundays getting it to hold still enough to hit the hole.I was hoping that maybe the earlier models used a heavier one or someone may have used a higher quality "stiffer" replacement.
Seems like this is an example of some misguided attempt at saving weight.
I grab the dipstick in the middle so it doesn't flop so much. You don't HAVE to use the handle- if you don't mind getting a very small amount of oil on your hand.

Now you've gone and done it... brought up a different kind of "lubrication".

I know I heard strange noise coming from my garage last night.
Maybe it was'nt forty?
I ran out and heard a swoosh 'as discribed in another thread'. The hood was up on my excursion and the dipstick was dangling from it's sheath! Crumpled up under the oil pan I found a red cape with a strange lubrication stain... Almost as though someone had used it to wipe off a dipstick and dropped it in their haste to leave. :-X23
Tonight I'm leaving a small chunck of Green Kriptonite hidden behind my oily K&N air filter.... Just in Case!!! :+ :+
P.S. I've always had to use both hands to insert my dipstick.
Abendex where are you ?????????

Alright, let's get some things straight!
Yer just jealous cause YOU don't have a sheet...I mean...cape.

Second, I don't check my oil with the dipstick...er,...mechanical, lubrication fluid, capacity gauge...I do it the old fashioned way...
I drain all my oil out and verify it by pouring it into little glass beakers that are scientifically accurate. It is painstaking but my truck is worth it!
And please. No kryptonite! PLEASE! http://www.plaudersmilies.de/errrr.gif
