Dear FORD ....

tn mac, I have had a few problems with mine. The dealer has fixed all but the mileage/performance lost by the Oct flash. They are working on it. Your dealer is the key. Read your owners manual on the process for handling issues. Document everything. Take a calm, factual approach in dealing with the service advisor, then the service manager. If you don't get satisfaction, ask for a meeting with the General Manager. Have your issues outlined and make sure you state what you want them to do. If that doesn't work, then call Ford Customer Relations. Most important is to document everything and be professional in your approach. It takes time. If I test drove my truck the way it is today, I would still buy it.

I have to disagree with you impression. I bought $80k worth of vehicles from the dealer in 6 months and I got crap for service. First they told me to come back next week, then it was "we're pushing your truck out in the street". The 800 # sucks, I might as well call the lunch lady at the local elementary school and explain my problems to her. Maybe your dealer cares about you by mine has one thing on his mine. Sell more cars..... And the 800 operators are thinking, "when is lunch?". Just my $0.02
If your situation has degraded to the point where the dealer just pushed your truck into the street, they must not want you back on the property. What did you say before they pushed it into the street? You might want to talk to a lawyer and see if the lawyer can intervene.
It's not an impression. I am just relating my experience. If you rant with the people you deal with, you will get nowhere. If you go in with facts and information on specifics of what is wrong and try to take a let's work it out approach, you will get much further.

Of course he didn't do this and eventually they fixed it and gave it back to me. In fact on the 13th day (the day after this convesation) they diagnosed the truck as having a "bad" engine and they eventually replaced it. I understand your approach but in some cases it takes more then speaking softly it requires that you carry a big stick. Either way, I got the truck back in the end and Ford will be replacing it shortly.
BTW, the liability of "pushing the truck out into the street" would simply be mind blowing, and their legal department would have made that very clear. For the Tech to have even made the comment, indicates the caliber of the individual making it.........Keep in mind, at the time the comment was made, they may have known that they would, then, have to replace the engine and having difficulty with Ford in pushing that through.......just shows with whom you were dealing & the dealership. Who is the dealership working on your truck ???
Just A thought................on.........My Perceptions..........:tap

Actually, in what may well have applied in this case, the "last resort approach" is the final approach. At times, rare though, it just may be necessary. I'm sensing here, that it was.

The owner of the dealership made the comment. The dealership is Poughkeepsie Ford in Poughkeepsie, NY.
This would lead me to believe that he was not a happy person. One who manifests that type of trait , in any business dialogue, clearly presents a picture of an individual who is not doing well. And, may not be doing well, on that very issue (the truck), and in other similar cases. Add that to your "not giving up" may further indicate this truck is not a happy product for the dealerships..
