P0171 code "too lean"

...and I'm thinking about changing the O2 sensor.Is there anything else it could be?98 F150,4.6L.Thanks.

look for vacum leaks first, before doing the o2s, check all the tubing, i found mine on the back side of the engine where the pcv tubing runs , there was a rubber elbow that had a tear in it, i replaced my o2s first then i found the leak! from what ive read hear this seems to be a pretty common issue.

p.s. run your hand around the tubing with the engine running ,and move it a little. (be carefull!!) i didnt find mine by using carb cleaner or hear it either. if you want too you can also use 2foot long heater hose ,put one end to your ear, the other end move it around the engine to "listen" for leaks.

Thanks for the responses!I probably saved about $50 on an O2 sensor.Time to test,not guess.
