CWB.. dont you have the long bed.. i think the angle is differnt or you have a one peice already..... when it comes to 4 door shortbeds, ive ridin in about 30 diff. trucks with all differnt sizes of lift... and all of them had acceleartaion shudder from 0-10mph...they all had 8" and up though... your right less lift than that i dont have experiance.. more than 8" with a 4door shortbed you either have an AFtermarket ONE-Peice, OR you have the shudder, or you dont know what the shudder is so you THINK you dont have it, or you dont admit having it...but its just physics
I forgot that they make shortbeds. I lock up the arb in the rear and that thing grips and I am gone. I have no shudder at all. I used to when running blocks but now that they are gone. Oh well, buy a longbed.
8" superlift /38" Tires
talked to superlift today. They told me the person i ordered my lift from didn't get the right carrier bearing drop bracket for my truck.
they sent a 2 piece drop bracket/no angle
Should have been superlift part # 9685
ordered mine today. hope to put in by weekend.
ok guys i have a 05 f250 sd crew cab 6.0 added 38 mickey thompsons, 8 inch fabtech lift and had same problem. take the driveshaft out and put a one piece shaft in it and problem will be fixed. you will never get carrier bearing to stop. we shimmed and shimmed to no avail, put in one piece shaft and presto FIXED. hope that helps.
I had the same shudder after installing my 4" Superlift. I ordered but never installed the shim kit when I did the lift. Installed the shims this afternoon, and shudder is gone. I also had a slight pull to the left at 75 mph when I drove back to Alabama last month. Adjusted the track bar out (lengthened) it 2 full turns, 1 1/4 turns for the drag-link and my truck drives amazing. I had a driveline shop check out my lift install and they said all the angles were were good. Still, shim kit fixed the shudder I had.
