I found this site awhile ago prior to the purchase of my truck. I was convienced that Diesel was the way to go. When I had read the reviews it was about 50/50 on what people had thought about their truck. So I decided to test drive one...and it was GOOD.
I have had NO complaints with the truck. I get 18.5/19 City driving. I do however get 15 if I get on it at every light and just keep romping on it. If the speed limit is 55 on the highway I get 23 there but usually it is 70 so it comes back down to 18 mpg. Fine line there somewhere.
I have towed about 8000 lbs with about 1000 in the bed through the Appalachian Mountains and get 17.5/18 there at 55-65 mph.Depending on the speed limit.
I notice on the first couple of miles that it is a little sluggish first thing in the morning. I talked with a co-worker (Owns Cummins) and his does the same. So that must be normal for the Diesel.
Sorry to be so long winded....
OUTSTANDING TRUCK!!!!!
Last 2 trucks were GMC / First time Ford.

Before I would suggest anything, I would like to know if you are carefully filling tank, i.e. once the auto shut off happens you can get 4/5 gallons more. Are you calculating the mileage or going off overhead.
You outside temperature alone will reduce your mileage by 20% does the truck park outside at night. Long warm ups. Do you frequent drive thru, staying in line the average of 6 minutes. Multiply that 5 times a week and 4 weeks a month…..wow 2 hours already, not including mornings and after work. Do you constantly drive in traffic stop and go or open road at below 40 degrees, are you on the throttle quiet a bit. WFO
Many questions will probably lead to understanding of why your are getting this mileage.
My difficulty in anyone complaining about MPG is we do not have all the facts, just “it gets poor mileage” ………..hum

As the owner you can demand/request the number.
If you can obtain it.......post it.
Thanks
It looks like some 6.0 owners who were getting terrible fuel mileage 10, 11, mpg, have benefited from the most recent flash. This is definitely something to be happy about. When you read other post it looks like the some of the 6.0 owners (myself included) who were getting 17,18, + mpg are now getting lower fuel mileage (mine has dropped to approx 14 mpg). I have no idea why, I am happy for those who were getting the 10-mpg’s, and hoping FORD will continue to work on the problems so everyone can get to the higher numbers. There have been several posts asking people to call with their concerns. I still think everyone should call the number and voice his or her concerns also tell of their successes as well. I love My 6.0 and I am definitely sticking with it. I just want the Ford people to keep working on the problems so we can have what we paid for. They will respond to their customers, but only if they hear from them.

......... Sorry I don't have the number of the flash they put in.
I believe that you find it on the work order copy you received upon completion of the work performed on the truck. Please let us know, if that is from where you get the number..
