3/4 ton ride

I'm going to look at a 1996 3/4 ton reg cab on the weekend, does anyone have any comments on theses trucks, if so let me here e'm, pro's or cons, kinda curious about the ride, I have a 1991 f1504x4, never had a 3/4 ton, are they a much rougher ride? anything I should look out for? thanks in advance

The 3/4 ton will ride quite a bit rougher than a 1/2 ton but I don't think that it is too bad.

The heavier the truck, the rougher the ride it seems. My F-150 doesn't ride too bad, but there's a noticeable difference between it and the 2002 F-450 rig I use at work, even with the Air-Ride suspension in the rear. The Super Duty line seems to ride a bit harder. You gotta pay something for the extra guts.

the 150's have coil springs and IFS, so the ride will be fairly smooth, the 250's have leaf springs and IFS so the isnt too bad, with stock springs..

Me personally don't think a truck is a truck without a rough ride.

I have '96 3/4 with an additional leaf for tool boxes, it's all
relative, you can never have too much truck, just keep the
coffee cup 1/2 full.

My truck had a great ride when I got it, possibly the original shocks. Almost as smooth as my old Legacy. But when I put the timbrens on that dissapeared.

Wear a kidney belt or put a thousand pounds in the bed.

I have to say that my '97 F-250HD's ride is REAL smooth. I don't know if it's the original shocks or what, but it's by far smoother than my '88 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Of course, the F-250's a 2wd and a Supercab longbed, so it has front coils and a 155" wheelbase, which probably make a difference.

The only time it's even somewhat rough is at slow speeds over rough roads. I find that if I drive over the same section at higher speeds, the suspension just soaks them up. The highway ride is just outstanding, though; it was the first thing I noticed when driving it.
