I was recently browsing the internet and stumbled upon a 1954 Ford 3/4 ton 4x4. The truck is located in Canada. It is supposed to be 1 of 12 made for Saskpower. The website is www.pvap.com There are pictures of it in the pictures section. The price is in the equipment for sale section. Let me know what all of you guys think.
$10,000????? They WISH! Even if that thing were perfectly restored and gone thru with a fine-toothed comb... they'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a $10K yearning for that truck. Plus, there's no pix of it. Yeah, I think I'll spend $10K on a sight-unseen, probably used and abused by an agro company truck that's sitting up in frozen Saskatchewan, Canada rotting as we speak. "Yeah, that's the ticket...."
Hey Daryl Saskatchewan trucks don't rust Hey if it was a Sask Power truck it likly has "low Mileage" and in good shape . As most Sask power trucks Idle all day in one spot The seat might need redoing as the workers sit in it all day long. Don't forget that was $10,000 Canadian dollars Today thats $6700.00 Us dollars
Note: to Sask power employees Just kidding I know you work.
I wonder if that would be a marmon herinton? Paso your right about Sask Power. In our town I don't know if the trucks even leave the lot! Well sask trucks don't rust (minor surface) since both of my trucks (well 1 1/2) have excelent cabs. Hey Paso maybe we should buy it. I'll put up 1% and you the other 99%. I know where there are some Mercury M-350 emblems are. We could change them and charge $15000.
Daryl, lets bet $5 to see who can come up with the closest description of the truck, I guess that the truck has black fenders and a red cab and bed with no tailgate and a homemade front bumper
Jamely, it looks like a marmon harrington or a colemen(did marmon have the huge hub caps too?). Not a bad looking truck and when restored to factory(key word being factory) they can be a huge hit at shows and worth quite a bit. Looks umolested, but service trucks often had "cootie-bobbed" fixes to keep it on the road or off in this matter Make sure it has as much of the original equip from the factory and see if you can get him to come down maybe to $6000 u.s(permitting there's very little rust) and you would have an excellent canidate for a resto. -4speed
Is it me, or do the front fenders appear to be "cootie-bobbed" for tire clearance? Hard to see (dark pictures) but it looks like the front axle is set back a little.
It looks like the rear axle is to far forward and the front to far rearward (to short of a wheelbase) but I don't know a thing about old 4 wheel drive conversions. It sure would be a project.
