Do any of u guy have pix of your snorkel setup's? I just got a truck with a 390 and it has no air cleaner. I have a K and N cone filter i want to make work with the truck. So carb is 5 and 1/8 and the filter is 3 and 1/2. So i want to make a snorkel and and use the cone filter. The truck had a snorkel but its gone. There is a 4 inch pvc 90 outside the passenger fender, so i can also use that. Any help guy would be nice!
A snorkel is used by people who like Deep mud and ponds and such. It is a sealed intake that runs from the carb to the top of the cab. They work well when they work. People have actually driven through ponds with them but dipping a hot FE down into cool water scares the daylights out of me.
Its a great way to find vacuum leaks!
If you want I will move this to the appropriate year truck forum and they might have somebody over there who has done this.
