Heated Mirror Swithch?

.anyone have an idea on installing a switch for the heated mirrors on f-250's. they are on when the ignition is on. my spot mirrors keep falling off do to the heat from the mirrors. i wish i could turn them on only when needed.

I don't have heated mirrors on my Explorer, but if I did, they'd be activated by the rear window defroster switch and run on the same timer. Having them on constantly does not sound like proper design. Are they "stuck", so to speak?
Just an observation...

I don't know about putting a switch on the heated mirrors but you might check the c-betr mirrors out. If I'm thinking of the right thing by spot mirrors these may be a good alternative. I like mine.

No, their not "stuck", this is the way they are designed. when I bought the truck I asked the salesman how to turn them on and he told me when you turn the defrost on, they will turn on. After reading the owners manual I found that they are activated when the ignition is turned on. I did find which fuse operates them and I am trying to figure out how to add a switch and inline fuse. Thanks for the replys.
