Rough Idle

Rough Idle

Sometimes when coming down from somewhat high speed to say a traffic light, the engine will drop a little in rpm and run real rough when i take it out of gear(manual). A few seconds later it will correct itself or if i bump the accel pedal it corrects itself.
What is causing this??
Also just wanted to say i just found this site and have been trying to absorb a lot of info Its Great!!!

It is a term called engine float. your truck will do it if you go down a grade and cost. Don't worry it is normal.

When I get off the freeway, especially after pulling my trailer for awhile on a warm day, mine does the same thing. I always figured it was just bleedin' off some that extra power.

I maybe would agree but it didn't do it the first year i owned the truck. Its when im slowing down to come to a stop, and say at 20mph i pull it out of gear into neutral and it runs rough as hell and will usually work itself out after 4 or 5 secs, but sometimes i will have to tap the pedal to get it idle normally again
