Aerostar wiring
I found that the ground wire to the power windows was open between the master switch panel in the drivers door and the first connection plug inside the driver side kick panel. I replaced that and then found there was not a ground upstream of the plug. I then grounded the door switches by wiring direct to ground. This resolved the problem.
The power door locks had no power on the black w/white tracer but had continuity all the way to the jumper in the fire wall. On the plug side of the fire wall, there was no practical way to trace where the power bus is since this is the source to the black w/white tracer. I could not find the power door lock fuse that is described in the factory manual. The fuse is located in the "power distribution box but I couldn't find it. There is a power box that has three relays and a diode, but nothing more.
I direct wired power through an inline fuse to the power door lock black w/white tracer and everything now works with the remote control. The alarm feature that blocks starting the engine, detects attempted entry, and rocking does not. The alarm was installed by the local Ford garage by connecting the +12Volt to the power lock power supply and the -12V to the ground for the power windows. The alarm is still connected on the power side in the same way but the ground is connected directly to ground.
Does anyone know where the power door lock bus fuse is located or where the power distribution box is located. Does anyone know where the black/white tracer is connected to a fuse or a power supply. The specific Ford factory manual shows connection to a 16 GA power bus. Are there any schematics for this circuitry?
Thanks

My 92 Owner's manual indicates that the power locks receive power through a 30 amp in-line fuse located above the fuse block, left cowl side. Power windows receive power through a 20 amp circuit breaker in fuse block position #14.
My Chilton's does not include any wiring diagrams for the power door locks, so I can't help you there. If the info you have indicates connection to a 16 GA anything, they are more than likely referring to a 16 GA fusible link attached to the starter motor relay.
