Help with tranny ID
Hey all,
\I know I seen it somewhere in one the forums, but I have been reading so much lately that they are all running together. That said, please help me with ID'ing my tranny.
\Here is what I found on the rt side of the case;

What sould I use for lube oil?
I noticed two filler bolts, one high and one low.
I really like this tranny, the granny gear is super low though.
Any advice on care and maintenance?

No problem,
These were a VERY popular tranny. Rebuild kits are still avaliable also. Best part is that no special tools are needed to rebuild it. Somewhere I have a rebuild procedure and it calls out for tools like: Hammer and wood block. My kind of tools!!
I am away on business right now so I can't answer you oil question. I have my book at home. If I am not mistaken I used 80-W90 in mine.
These are a tough tranny used by all of the "Big 3" automakers at one time or another. These are the ratio's off the top of my head so don't hold me to it.
1st 6.64:1
2nd 3.34:1
3rd 1.74:1
4th 1.0:1
Reverse 8.375:1
