I've got a question for you guys. I'm planning a slight lift and a swap to 33's and 4:10 gears for my '96 in the spring. The speedometer runs off of a reluctor wheel and wheel speed sensor mounted to the diff carrier, so there is no Vehicle Speed Sensor in the transmission. This means that road speed is measured in axle revolutions, not driveshaft revolutions. Therefore, changing the gear ratio shouldn't mess with the speedometer calibration, but putting 33's where LT235-75-R15's used to be will. After the swap, where can I go or what can I do to get it recalibrated?
Argo,
In case you didn't find it.
It's listed at upper right hand corner of this page.
Tech Articles.
When you get there I think it's in the Dec 2001 section.
