By the way DC, thanks for the initial info on the traction bars oh so many months ago... Although the pics don't show it, i ended up using 3/4" heim joints at both ends. This way there is no binding whatsoever. That setup, although a bit more expensive, is for sure stronger than my original bushing plans, and alows them a bit more freedom while the axle travels up or down on just one side.
The axle i just fabbed some hanger type mounts that simply bolt to the frame, and on the axle i just welded on tabs about 1 inch apart. I ground out one end so it matched the axle's curvature, then rounded off the other end. Looks clean, and is all made out of 1/4" plate so it's plenty strong.
Yep, I was a long haul trucker back then. I was in Amarillo and could not figure out what all the cotton was doing beside the fences. Got on down the road a little farther and figured out it was not cotton. What a shock, but my shock was not as big as some of the cars drivers shock was. Never seen the wrecker guys so busy in my life.
Just looked outside, it is 12 and money is falling out of the sky again.
Wow SuperStroker nice ride!! I've been staring at the screen, drooling and making grunting noises for the past half hour looking at your rig. I'm going up to SA for the weekend, I'll keep an eye out for your rig on the roads! Looks good!
