I am typing a multipage worksheet for work. There are 7 columns and each column has a heading at the top. How can I set up this document so the column headings automatically appear at the top of each new page as my worksheet grows? I want to see the column headings on every page. I did this once and I've forgotten how to do it again!!!
You need to select the row below the row you want to freeze...in this case, it would be row 2. Highlight the entire row, and choose the "Freeze Pane" option under the "Window" menu item. This will freeze the first row while you scroll down the rest of the page.
fyrfytrjeff is right if you want to keep your title row from scrolling as you work on your spread sheet.
To get the column titles in an Excel file to repeat on each page for printing, go to the tool bar, select 'File', then 'Page Setup', then 'Sheet', then select 'Rows to Repeat at Top'. Then select which row(s) to repeat.
Thank you very much for the help. I just got the column headings to appear on each subsequent page as my list grows. My only other source for help is a 1,200 page Microsoft Office Book. This forum seemed to be a lot easier!! Thanks again.
