How hard is it to change the CVR for the guages? I've been getting some strange guage readings recently, not all the time though. I bought a new CVR from napa. It' pretty cold out in the garage (at least it's in a garage) and it's supposed to be cold for a while. If it's easy to do without taking anything apart i'll do it now, if not I'll wait till spring to take things apart. Thanks.

CVR as in cluster voltage regulator? if so your farliy simple take the 3 philps screws on the top of the guage cluster out then you need to get a litlte screw driver which is what i use and find the little slit on the wiper and light ***** and push the tabs towards the back of the truck and pull and they wull slide off then once you get that out cluster cover off theres 4 philips screws that hold on the cluster itself once you get those out unhook the wiring from it and then it should slide out far enough for youto change it with out undoing your speedometer cable it will be in the top left hand corner and is a litlte silver box but you know i had the smae problem with my guages and bout the over priced cluster voltage regulator for 30 dollars from napa as well put it in and they worked even worse!! so i went to a junk yard and went and took them out of broncos trucks and vans from that 80 to 86 as they are all the same and has better luck witht hose now they work good everyone in a while they kinda drop down only for a few seconds and not often at all but i notice they do i guess ford had a problem with these things and i took one apart for the heck of it and wasnt much to it so i dont see how they mess up sometimes anyway they are so small you could put them in your pocket and walk out with out paying for them but you didnt hear that from ( cough cough) me
