remote starter on 94 mustang

While installing a remote starter on a 94 mustang, we watched the video, and spliced all of the wires right, well when we hit the remote, the engine would crank, but we couldn't here the fuel pump engage, so we figured there must be another accessory wire that engages the fuel pump, so we found one more wire, coming from the main harness, a thin black one, so when we made the cut into that wire, it arched, oops. So know we try starting the car with the regular key, and it won't work at all, there is nothing, you can here the fuel pump, and a small click but no starter engaging, so we charged the battery for a while hoping it was just a dead battery that wasn't it, did we screw something serious up, because it isn't our car, and we need to fix it fast

Go over to the starter relay, and find all the fusible links(I am assuming you checked all the fuses in the fuse box?). The fusible links are colored rubber pieces in the wires, and act like fuses. You will have to take a meter or test light, and pierce the insulation after the link to see if you have 12 volts. That will tell you if it's burnt open inside.

We have checked every fuse in the fuse box under the dash and in the engine compartment, if it is a fusible link, is it an easy fix, and do you think it is a very serious problem, could this cost the kid a lot of money, like a computer, or some other expensive part

If it's a fusible link, hopefully it did it's job and popped before you did any damage.

we can take off the starter relay off and run a wire across two points and we can start the motor.
