stuck transfer case in low range HELP ! !
Well, I did it, and got her stuck in the muck while making a u-turn. I didn't think I was in that bad until I couldn;t rock it even a few inches. Deceided to try 4low and low gear to crawl over some branches, only to finally have 6 guys in an old f150 2wd with bad tires and a hitch pull me out. Problem is, the truck is now stuck in low gear and the low range indicator light is on. Limped home, covered in muck complete with pulled neck. I have a lot of highway driving tomm., and need to at least get it into high. Please HELP! ! ! !

Are we to assume you that you know the procedure to shift it out of 4lo ?
1)trans in neutral
2)completely stopped
3)foot firmly on the brake
4)shift the **** to off
If that doesn't work slowly back up a few feet then try above procedure again.
Still not working chk fuses and relays for the system,all wiring connections to the shift motor.

Got it out halfway down the driveway this am. My old scout had to be rolling not stopped so I didn't even think about stopping and in neutral. Anyway, thanks for the info, it worked. Don;t want that to ever happen again, getting stuck and all. Might go for some air lockers soon just in case. I had two opposite wheels spinning away. Thanks again guys.
