Need more power

I have a 92 diesel ford that I am going to turbo charge, but I am told that I need to turn up the fuel delivery at the fuel pump in order for it to perform correctly. How do I do that?

What turbo system are you getting?

How many miles do you have on your engine now?

I would recommend that you get a pyrometer and boost guage as well and install it at the same time.

I got an ATS turbo system and the engine has 124,000 miles on it. As far as getting a pyro and a manifold pressure guage, they are already on order.

Yes, you'll need to turn up the fuel. A turbo forces more air into the engine so that more fuel can be burned. To get the most power out of your newly turboed engine, you'll want more fuel forced into it also, but watch the pyrometer.

Tell us when you get the pyrometer installed and we will tell you how to turn the fuel up. You do need to pay close attention to the pyrometer so you do not cook your pistons or turbo. The ATS system did not have directions about the fuel settings?
