I tried posting this question in the lubrication board but didn't get an answer so I will try it here. I know that some of you guys must be using a remote oil filter set up. Especially with a Volare set up. Here is my question. I bought a remote oil filter set up from Summit some time ago. I mounted the adapters to the engine and found a good spot for the remote filter. I don't have the directions that came with it any more. I want to run the lines now. Each adapter is marked with "in" and "out". Do I run the lines "in" to "in" and "out"to "out" or is there another way.
Hey guys. don't get it backwards. Think about it, the adapter at the block "out is oil going to the filter, in is for oil coming from the filter" at the filter " in is for oil coming from the block and out is for oil going to the block". Out to in / out to in. Filters don't take kindly to oil going through them backwards. Tom
The engine will not get oil if it is hooked up backwards. There is a check valve in the filter. Ask my son how I know this. I think we plumbed it so that the center of the adaptor went to the center of the filter mount.
Took your advice John and called Summit. The correct way is out of motor to in on filter and out of filter and into motor. The tech service dept. at Summit instantly had an answer for me. I have to praise them on their service.
