Remember you can buy a reproduction uni tailgate for $300 from Denis Carpenter.

I've look up four catalog companies and their prices are as follow's
Mac Antique Trucks $448.95, Cal pickup trucks $504.95, LMC $499.95, Dennis Carpenter $400.00; mostly imported built but straight and no rust ready for paint, the e-bay tailgate is probably worth $125.00 @ most, picture's doesn't show back side of gate, could have rust inside lower section as well as the ones I see having rusted outside lower.

But that's my two cent's worth.

I've got a rear bumper if anyone is interested, make an offer. details are in the classified section. BTW I'm guessing my asking price was too high

My guess on the value of that stock tailgate would be $250-300. The repro tailgates I have seen don't have the FORD lettering. There was also talk about very poor quality on the new imported gates.

The Dennis Carpenter tailgates are stamped using the original Ford tooling dies that the factory stamped them out with. Exact repro.

I didn't realize that! The ones I saw a couple years ago were imported from South America. If Carpenter has the original dies, then the stock tailgate isn't worth much.

If the tailgate is worth this much, what is a 62 F-100 Uni with a 351 Windsor worth???

Mike it depends on what shape the tailgate is in LOL. Of course the overall condition of the truck, what options, chrome, and quality of work on the transplant come into play also.
