Question rims

this may sound stupid guy's but i was wondering if someone could tell me what the bolt patern,for the 77-78 model pickup was i'm trying to order some rims for my truck an don't know the bolt pattern size,all i have ever called them was small and big bolt patterns, i had a 84 model with a smaller bolt patern,my 86 has the big pattern same as the 78 can anyone help?

well theres 5 bolt and 8 bolt light duty had 5 bolt heavy 8 bolt i dont believe there was anything else for ford

My 76 Ranger XLT 1/2 ton Big Block has a 6 bolt pattern

Not much help here, just my 2 cents....

You must have swapped the axles then. Ford Motor Company has never used a 6 bolt pattern. At least prior to 1996.

Your pattern on the other hand is called a 5x5 1/2 pattern. That is 5 bolt holes, 5 and a half inches across.

Matt, Thanks for making me aware that a 6 bolt pattern wasn't used prior to 1996. I just purchase the truck last month. The previous owner had said it had custom drive shafts but nothing about the axles.

hey thanks bro thats what i was talking 5x5 1/2 i really couldn't explain it bro sorry thank u,i know it has five lugs..........damn........lol that is easy to see.................lol

Ford 8 lug wheels, are 16x6, or 16x7, (8 lug on 6 1/2 center).
Ford 5 lug wheels, are 15x5, or 15x6, ( 5 lug on 5 1/2 center).
These are t he stock Ford OEM steel wheel size.

When did Ford have a 6 lug vehicle? I thought it was only introduced in 03 on the new Expeditions. They had a 7 lug trucks in 97 until 03, but I don't know of any 6 lug.

Ok for the last time in this thread, I hope. Ford Motor Company has NEVER used a 6 lug wheel, at least prior to 1996, I don't know what else they have used after 1996.
