I read a while back in an off road magazine that the new '03 Super Duty trucks will come with a Dana 60 front axle instead of the Dana 50. I just wanted to know if this is true, or when will the switch be made?
>Why did they change to the Dana 60?
Just a guess, but because of reducing the number of different parts and changeovers involved it may have been just about as cheap to use the 60 in all models and not just the 450 and 550.I also believe it is an added plus or feature to attract buyers because of the 60's good reputation. When they added the 6spd. in a gasser and the 60 on the 02's it helped me bite and buy a SD.
>was there a problem or
>issues with the Dana 50?
Not that I know of.I believe the biggest difference between the two is the axle diameters.
