I have a 1997 Ford F250 light duty 5.4L. I am trying to find out what the best headers and exhaust system will give me the most for my money. If anyone has any suggestions, please help. Thank You,
Todd
I just put a Gibson system on my 2003 F-150, 5.4L, and am very satisfied with it. I didn't get headers but just the exhaust sounds nice. Has a nice rumble to it, but not to much cab noise. I am sure if you put headers on with yours it will sound even that much better. Wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but they are guarnteed for as long as your truck last.
Don't know if that helped but I would recommend Gibson.
If you go the headers route, be prepared to have headaches. I'm not sure how hard they are to install on a 5.4L but I betting its gonna be hard. With headers your looking at a 5-15 horse increase possibly more with a set of long tubes.
Since you are unable to have true duals due to your 02 sensors I would get a high-flow cat and your choice of muffler.
